Washington Aerospace Partnership

Washington's aerospace industry--a cornerstone of our economy--is at a critical crossroads. More than 70,000 direct jobs in nearly every Washington county are at stake unless we pull together and act now.
The Washington Aerospace Partnership is a growing, dynamic and broad based coalition that has formed to support this important industry. Already, more than 100+ businesses and organizations from across the state have signed up as partners on our website and hundreds of individuals have joined our email list. Thank you to all who have come forward so far.
Many of you have asked how you can help the Partnership. We are gearing up for two important missions. One mission is to provide immediate assistance to help win the US Air Force's next tanker contract. A longer-term and broader mission is to reinforce the fact that Washington state is the best place in the world to build aircraft--commercial, military or personal.
These are prizes worth fighting for. And to do so, we need your help. Our success will depend in large part upon our ability to build a broad, statewide coalition. In the next few weeks, we need to establish a network that contains as many businesses, labor organizations, community and nonprofit groups, and individuals as possible. Here are three simple things you can do:
| 1. |
If you are not listed as a partner on our website, please contact us today |
| |
| 2. |
If you have joined the Partnership already, please forward this message to companies you do business with and urge them to join this effort |
| |
| 3. |
If you are an individual supporter, please sign up for our e-newsletter and encourage your associates to join as well |
Washington, its companies and its people, have a proud legacy of manufacturing the best aircraft in the world. We have much to gain through a united effort focused on securing future opportunities. Much is also at stake as the aerospace industry is the anchor to the entire state's economy. Many of our partners have expressed this point when they joined, and there are a few recent comments that we would like to share with you:
"While we supply mostly commercial and residential hardware, we know that we all are greatly impacted by Boeing and all the support channels that feed them. I agree, we need to do everything possible to keep them here in our backyards."--Greg Lunde, President, Builders' Hardware & Supply Company, Inc.
"I have joined the Washington Aerospace Partnership to help keep the Seattle area the world's largest aerospace cluster and to help the 650 aerospace businesses in our state gain access to the resources they need to sustain revenues and fuel a job-growing economy."--Tracy Corley, President & Chief Strategist, TsuluWerks
Starting today, we need to show that we are determined to fight for this industry and remain the aerospace capital of the world. We hope you will join us.
