Washington Aerospace Partnership

Dear Washington Aerospace Partnership supporter,
All of us were disheartened last week when Boeing announced that they will locate the second line of the 787 in Charleston, South Carolina. It was a harsh reminder of the changing global aerospace market, and the need for Washington to remain a competitive, innovative leader in this critical sector of our economy.
Now is the time to move forward with an immediate priority: helping Boeing, Washington's aerospace workers and suppliers, and allies in other states win the coveted US Air Force Refueling tanker contract in 2010. Our state--and the more than 200 members of this partnership--are united in this effort so today we begin our work anew to succeed in this effort.
We are launching the United States Tanker 2010 project later this month when the US Air Force officially issues the tanker RFP. Our hope is to serve as a coordinating body for grass roots and community based advocacy for making sure that the tanker contract is awarded to Boeing and is built by experienced and competent US workers, including our workforce here in Washington state. Building this plane in the US is essential to both our economic and national security.
Working together we will succeed.
Thanks for your continued support,
Sincerely,
